"Not Shopping til I Drop" 65 Days Challenge : Day 54 & CONTEST

Hello my lovelies! I have not given you an update on my no buy in a little while and thought it was just proper. I am so sorry but I really didn't want to bore you with all my non sense and suffering. Bahahaha!! There is a good and bad outcome. The GOOD is that the END is near and I can finally buy whatever I want. =D The BAD is that I live in a very small apartment with a family of 9 and I share a room that is about 250 sq. ft. and my Makeup Collection has gotten so BIG it no longer fits in this room & I can't even buy cute compartments/boxes to put everything away because they don't fit so it will be stupid of me to continue to buy; unless I move. Moving is definitely an option because I need my own space!! I am planning to do the whole Project Pan thing just to start using some of my stuff! Anyways that is my update... I thank God for the games on Facebook because I managed to win tons of FREE stuff and Christian who spoiled me with an early Christmas Shopping Spree at Sephora during the Friends and Family 20% Discount! I will definitely have a HAUL video up as soon as I get the 3rd BOX! Yes! You read right... THREE boxes because I had to make three different orders to complete ALL I wanted!

I first came across StellaStarish Cosmetics when I entered a makeup contest she was sponsoring which I luckily one!! I was able to try some of her babies and completely fell in love! Stella the owner is such a humble and helping person. I then decided to follow her fan page daily where she has tons of fun going on! 12 Days of Halloween Challenge: Day 3

Ahhh! This is such a cute snack that look like monster teeth  and you can put at a table for your Halloween party!

This is not my picture! Got it from a friend on Facebook!

Ingredients:
Apples
Peanut Butter
Lemon Juice
Small Marshmallows
Food Coloring (Optional)

Steps:
1. Wash, peel and core apples. Then cut each apple into 8 pieces.
2. Dip the cut apples in lemon juice to prevent them from turning brown.
3. Smear Peanut Butter on one side of 2 wedges.
4. Stick a few marshmallow on the peanut butter on one of the apple wedges and top with the other apple wedge-peanut butter side down.
*Optional- sprinkle food coloring on the marshmallows to make the marshmallows look like rotting teeth!

"Not Shopping til I Drop" 65 Days Challenge : Day 26

Sales! Sales! Sales! That's all I'm hearing every where I go! Sales are pretty awesome, right? Especially when you can get some thing you've been meaning to try or have for a while now! Well something I've noticed while chit chatting with a friend of mine was how fast I was to pull out my money when I heard that word Sale! I never cared enough to check if it really was a sale that was WORTH splurging on. So while in this challenge of not being able to buy anything I have come across many great discounts and opportunities to buy some awesome stuff but couldn't!*sad face* but since I can not just whip out the cash I am forced to do something else. That something else is meditating on how much the sale really has... Its crazy but I actually have been able to tell myself even if I had not been in this challenge I think I would've still said NO! Crazy huh? I would've said NO! Usually I wouldn't even care and just been like hey its a sale! *haha* This challenge is definitely hurting my heart because they're some things that are SOO worth the sale; but I look at the bright side of things & I am saving a LOAD of money!! :) & I know I will finish a different, stronger and smarter spender!

12 Days of Halloween Challenge: Day 1

I joined Abigail's Boutique Designs Challenge in which we have to do 12 different posts Halloween related. I chose this recipe because it is very easy and I actually ate it in a friends house last year. It was very creepy! =) Enjoy!

Monster Toes

Recipe Ingredients:

Cocktail wieners
6-inch tortillas
Ketchup or mustard
Toothpicks

Directions

1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Cut a wedge into the end of each cocktail wiener to make a toenail.
2. Cut the tortillas into strips about 4 inches long and 3/4 inch wide. Discard the ends.
3. Soften the strips in the microwave between damp paper towels for 10 to 30 seconds.
4. Roll each wiener in a tortilla strip and secure with a toothpick.
5. Bake for 7 to 8 minutes. Remove them from the oven, then fill the toenail with ketchup or mustard. Remove the toothpicks before serving.

"Not Shopping til I Drop" 65 Days Challenge : Day 13

Hello My beauties! =)
Its been so long since I've written a post! It has been crazy these past few days because of school and family obligations. But I'm back. You all know I'm in a personal challenge to not shop for 65 days and I'm in Day 12. Must I say how hard this is? I have a MAC, Inglot, Sephora, Cosmetics Market all around my school & a Facebook FULL of AMAZING Indie Companies! It's so hard to refuse myself in clicking the Add to Cart button. What I find myself doing now is literally spending hours looking at pictures of pigments online or adding them to my Christmas Wishlist. (hey! now my loved ones won't have a hard time picking a gift for me haha!) Or I also visit Sephora during my breaks and sit there trying on different colors and/or even painting my nails [yesterday I painted them ORGASM from NARS... LOVE it] In the last few days I think I would've spent over $200 just on makeup! I'm excited to see how the outcome of this challenge will bring me growth in my life! On another hand since I did do a lot of shopping prior to this challenge I still have been getting packages from them so it keeps me a bit sane! haha! I can't wait to start posting the reviews! Talking about reviews, I did a Haul on all my purchases from Indie Companies. Make sure to check it out!

I was first introduced to Unique Styles Boutique playing in the famous Facebook Scavenger Hunts. I had a blast & won 3 pigments from her collection. I was free to select any three. I was so ecstatic since it was the first time ever that I won makeup for FREE playing games. Judith, the owner is a wonderful person. Very easy going and easy to talk too. Her shipping is flawless. I have received two orders from her; My prize & then when I ordered from her some samples. They were both received in less then 3 business days! That's right 3 BUSINESS DAYS!!

The only thing that I found that honestly didn't bother me but may cause some issues is the fact that there's no list of ingredients in the package or labels. I know some people may have extremely sensitive skin & may fear using anything without know the containing ingredients. Overall, I was very satisfied with the service & product.

4.5 out of 5: I would definitely buy from her again!

Alexeter Minerals

Alexeter Minerals is a new Canadian company offering cosmetics. The owner Jen is someone who is very easy to reach and very nice at the same time. I was very lucky to win these two eye-shadows in a contest held by one of the makeup pages. Jen was nice enough to sponsor that contest and therefore I won these two beautiful eye-shadows that are part of their "Princess Collection." Below are the swatches, done over Urban Decay Primer Potion.

All jars come with a label on top with the company logo & a label on bottom with the name of the pigment.

All her jars have sifters... so just I love this since I'm soo clumsy! haha

Princess Toad- A very shimmery light green. Being that green is my favorite color, I was blown away at how beautiful this color is.
Princess Cupcake- PINK! A very nice pink, full of shimmer.



As you can all see these pigments are true to color! The same color you see in the jar, you see on your skin. & I absolutely LOVE that. (The green looks a little bright in the jar because of my camera...SORRY)
Overall, I would COMPLETELY recommend you all to order from Jen. Not only are her pigments beautiful but her service to her customers is impeccable. She responds right away & answers any of your questions.

"Not Shopping til I Drop" 65 Days Challenge : Day 2

Okay! So this is more difficult then I thought! =( I have already been tempted to buy 4 things!! ahhhh!!! I'm so heart broken </3 On the brighter side I saved some money today lol & received my EOS "Honeysuckle Honeydew" lippie, My Urban Decay Book of Shadows IV that came with a Glide-on Cheek Tint in "Quickie" & 3 small samples that Ulta gives with all purchases!

I am totally IN LOVE with this palette! Though it has some repeated colors, it also has 10 NEW shadows (never been seen.) I will be doing a Review soon! I have soo much to review but really excited to start! =) 

This week I also received my FIRST ever BIRCHBOX... It was the September box.... I really wasn't WOWED by it, but there were some stuff I found CUTE & enjoyed! I will be doing a video soon & posting it as well!

"Not Shopping til I Drop" 65 Days Challenge : Day 1

Hello my lovelies! Hope all is well... I 'm sure a lot of you have started your weekend already & some of you are getting ready to start the weekend. I hope you all have a great one! The reason for this post is because I wanted to let you all know that as of tomorrow I will be on a 65 days no shopping challenge for myself except for my loves birthday. (but that's always an exception! ha !!) I will be blogging about most days, such as different things I saw that I wanted to buy & what I felt not being able to buy. At the end of the challenge I will total the amount of money I would've spent [in other words $$ I saved myself]. On another note this weekend was a very special weekend because it was one of my favorite girls "30th birthday." I did makeup on her & then we went to Uno's with some other special friends... it was a very good night! We  had a blast!

The night ended with us looking & swatching a whole lot of eye shadows, blushes, bronzers, and even tasting Urban Decay's marshmallow powder! This week I will be doing a whole lot of reviews on LOTS of different companies. I am really excited! Can't wait for you to see all the beautiful colors! =)

My Makeup Story

1. How old were you when you start wearing makeup?

I really don't remember exactly what age I started wearing makeup but I can definitely tell you it was late in the game. Maybe 14-15 years old.

2. How did you get into makeup?

 There was a lot of different factors but two I know are for sure. One was DulceCandy... My favorite makeup guru just because she was my first inspiration. I used to stay up late  nights just watching her youtube videos or reading her blogs. She is absolutely amazing & completely down to earth. Second was my friends Alyssa & Lauren & their mom Annie. They always told me that I was beautiful and that I should enhance it with makeup. To say the least they bought me my first palette "Urban Decay's Sustainable Shadow Box" at age 19. Crazy huh? But I love it & cherish it with all my heart.

3. What are some of your favorite brands?

 I love so many brands. I have such a wide variety from drugstore to MAC. I love Sephora though because of the wide variety it has. I must say most of my products are from Urban Decay & I am not in a bit disappointed. LOVE URBAN DECAY!

4. What does makeup mean to you?

 To me makeup means a lot of things; but out of all the definitions I can use, I am going to say ART. I know it sounds strange but I am an ART fanatic and I think that is why I love makeup so much. Our faces are the canvas & the makeup are the tools.  We create what we feel in a moment of time. 

5. If you could only wear four products on your face what would they be?

 -Foundation

-Eye shadow

-Mascara

-Lip balm

6. What is your favorite thing about makeup?

I love how makeup can completely change my mood around in a second. I can be so down and feeling blah but then I put on some makeup and I'm happy. 

7. What do you think about drugstore makeup vs high end makeup?

 I think both are just as good. I know high end products may last longer and longer wear time but I feel that personally they both do the job Great.

8. What is one tip of advice you can give to a beginner?

 Well I am a beginner myself, so I guess I will tell them what I do myself. Youtube should be your best friend. I've learned so much from so many girls who do tutorials online. Also practice makes perfect! 

9. What is one makeup trend you never understood?

 Well there is nothing that has ever stood out to me. I think everyone should be able to do what ever they want if they feel comfortable with it themselves.

10. What do you think about the beauty community on YouTube and Blogger?  

As I said on question 8, that is how learned myself. My answer for every makeup question is YOUTUBE! lol I honestly don't think I would ever know how to even pick up a brush. I love watching the videos. I myself am trying to do the same.

Labor day Weeknd & Miscellaneous

So I've been away since Saturday. It was a very special weekend; every September my youth group from my church go away with other youth members to a weekend retreat. It was a very blessed weekend of praise, games, fun and best of all time with God. I got back yesterday exhausted from all the FUN!! This morning I was so excited to see I finally got my package from StellaStarish.

Tag: What would you rather...

So I've spent the day reading blogs and looking at youtube videos and I came across this cool little "game" from http://www.prettyaddictionsblog.com... =)

1. Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip glosses, OR lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?

I don't even need to think twice about this! I most definitely would prefer to loose all of my mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip glosses. Compared to the amount of eye shadows and palettes I have, those don't really matter. & any how I can always get a liner brush and make my own liners and some of my shadows work for the lips too. ;)

2. Would you rather chop off all your hair, OR never be able to cut it again?

Never be able to cut it! The beauty of a woman is in her hair!! I absolutely love my hair!

3. Would you rather have a coral cheek, OR a pink cheek?

Lately, I've really been into the whole corally (if that's even a word lol) look! So for right now I will choose coral.

4. If you had $1,000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

Hmmmm.... this is a toughy!!! I love clothes and I love makeup!! But lately because of my weight issue & self conscious reason I've been laying off clothes... so def makeup! lol 

5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, OR eyeliner as lipstick?

I would apply eyeliner as lipstick because lipstick as eyeliner just sounds kind of tough & messy!

6. Would you rather only shop Mac, OR Sephora?

SEPHORA! Hands down.... Don't get me wrong Mac is awesome! But sometimes those sales people are annoying! & Sephora also has some much variety; I never want to leave the place!

7. Would you rather use only one eyeshadow color, OR one lip color for the rest of your life?

ONE LIP COLOR! I can survive using one color on my lips... but on my eyes?? NOOOO! I love to have fun playing with my eyes... One color just sounds boring! 

8. Would you rather wear winter clothes in the summer, OR summer clothes in the winter?

Summer clothes in the winter... I can totally rock a cute tank top with a nice cardigan! Or a short skirt with some cute leggings!

9. Would you rather have dark nails, OR bright nails all year round? 
Bright! I am ALL about being BRIGHT! :D

10. Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a pony tail, OR a messy bun?

a pony tail, because there are ways to dress them up to look cute

11. Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again, OR never use lip gloss.

Never use lip gloss! I can use chap-stick, lip balm, lip stick, eye shadow as lipstick! So many choices, where in never painting my nails... that would be a BUMMER!
12. Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all, OR sharpie them in every day?

Sharpie them in,, even though that's a scary though... But its even scarier not having any AT ALL!

13. Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?

Nail polish! Make up is way to much fun to live without!

Makeup, Makeup, & More Makeup

Hey dolls & guys!

Hope you are all having a wonderful night! I will be starting these blogs from now on. I will be blogging about tons of stuff: makeup, hauls, reviews, beauty etc.

As you can see by my title I wanted to focus my first blog on what I've been doing lately a lot which is makeup!
